Ko Knocks Out Yim at the 2nd Masters!

H. Lee. CIKOGA Reporter

The first day was cold and the second day was windy. Yet, Chung shot +1 and dominated the field and set the new CIKOGA major single round record. Yim shot +2 in 2015 CIKOGA US Open. Unfortunately, Chung could not finish the tournament on Saturday.

Thus, the second day was the match between defending champion Yim and Ko who never won the 1st place in CIKOGA majors. He walked the course with his shoulder bag honoring his wife who ran Illini Marathon on the same day.

With superb iron shot and accurate putting, Ko narrowed the 2 stroke deficit and finally stayed ahead at the Par-3 17th hole. Although Yim could hit the fringe over the long water, he made costly mistakes with his putting and ended up with double bogey.

At the long last hole, Ko nailed his 3rd approach shot and made two putts to secure his green jacket. Ko's first major win came in style thanks to his amazing patience and endurance. The late Arnold Palmer, who designed the Den at the Fox Creek course, must have enjoyed watching Ko to wear his first green jacket from heaven.
