J. Choi wins his 3rd invitational!

J. Choi shot extremely well and shot +19. If you look at 2015 US Open regional qualifier result, the last place was +16 and J. Choi was only 3 shot behind from those who want to play at US Open. As you may know, US open qualifier accepts people who have handicap +2 or lower. IlliniCC is such tough course that can penalize 2-handicapper to shoot +16 under pressure.

J. Choi impressed everyone because he could reach greens of very long and difficult holes in two every time. With his new Titleist driver, hybrid, and Scotty Cameron putter, he played consistently in a windy and rainy condition.

Greens at IlliniCC were so true that C.W. Lee made a few spectacular putts. As usual, his borrowed club and shoes did not work well for him but he managed to shoot +21. His enthusiasm about golf defeated his jet leg.

Overall, IlliniCC was a perfect course for testing shot making skill with a lot of dog leg left/right & uphill/downhill and putting skill should be exceptionally good because of the fast green. Everyone intentionally walked the course to feel the energy required by US Open qualifier.
